Accountant

Responsibilities:

The potential candidate shall be reporting to the Executive Chairman’s Office. Successful candidate is expected to support the Group’s financial and management accounting, reporting, treasury, taxation and internal central activities.

• Ensure compliance, maintenance and continuous improvement on all financial aspects.
• Liaise with internal auditors, external auditors, statutory bodies, bankers, etc.
• Ensure timely preparation of all relevant financial reports.
• Provide sound financial advice for decision making, if required.
• Responsible for the full spectrum of financial accounting and management reporting
• Prepare and review schedules and reports required by management
• Assist in ad hoc projects as and when required by management
• Manage the cash-flow and working capital of the company
• Maintain and enhance system of internal control and procedures across all levels
• Liaise with auditors, tax agent, corporate secretary, bankers and regulatory authorities
• Assist in implementing policies and procedures in line with corporate requirements
• Able to lead, coach and supervise subordinates in achieving the department’s objectives.
• Good common sense, analytical, sharp judgment and problem solving

Requirements:

Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with local and overseas personnel is a key attribute for the success of this role.

• Degree in Accounting and/or MACPA/MIA/ACCA/ASCPA or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 – 5 years related working experience, preferably in a marine construction background.
• High level of analytical ability and problem solving skills.
• Meticulous, pro-active, independent with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
• Computer literate, and proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Good command in spoken and written English.
