Bar Manager/Supervisor

Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager

Job Summary

To oversee all bar operations in the Club dealing with all the day-to-day running of the business, maintaining, presentation of the bar, staff management and training, supplier liaisons, stock control and introducing new and exciting cocktails and promotions and activities for the bars in the Club.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintaining and managing all bar operations.
• Plan, control and coordinate bar organization and activities.
• Ensure that the service procedures to Club members are up to standard.
• Make suggestions for improvement of services and department profitability.
• Supervise and manage the staff.
• Train, groom and direct bar staff on beverage preparation and to maintain high quality drinks and service standards.
• Prepare duty roster and make sure that staff level is adapted to forecast and take required actions to correct discrepancies
• Make suggestions on bar promotions and introducing new and exciting cocktails.
• Attend to members of the Club.
• Handle bar inventories and monthly stock takes
• Monitor stock level to ensure there is enough stock available
• Liaise with suppliers
• Responsible on achieving monthly budget
• To ensure all rules concerning orders, billing instruction and collection are respected.
• Responsible for bar cleanliness and set up.
• To ensure application of procedures and regulations concerning hygiene and safety are practiced.
• To attend meetings.
• To perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by Management.

Job Requirements

• 3 years experience in supervisory experience in bar, catering or hotel industries
• Strong alcoholic beverage knowledge and selling skills
• Excellent people skills, fun, outgoing personality with energy
• Conversant in English
• Progressive experience in membership sales preferably in the hotel or club industry.
• Possess good analytical and leadership qualities and is an effective communicator
• Demonstrates sound work ethics
