Field Application Engineer

Responsibilities:

To be responsible for providing pre and post sales support in application, operation, test automation and customization of testing scripts according to the customer’s application for all Test Equipment products involved. To help customers optimize their test process in test time and test methodology with the objective of cost reduction.

• Complete automation projects for major customers
• Respond to customer and sales requests
• Perform equipment demos to customers and engage in presales activities
• Advise on test setups and testing methodology
• Customization of remote control test scripts to customers’ needs, including the test script writing
• Liaise with internal staff (Management, Sales, Service) on product queries
• Proactive in managing account relationships
• Keep up-to-date with latest technology
• Work closely with Local and International teams and Division to support local customers
• Identify opportunities for development and improvement to test solution products
• Work closely with channel partners and resellers
• Provide training and coach channel partners technical resources to closing deals

Requirements:

• BSEE / BSCE or equivalent experience
• Background in the production line testing required
• Transmission technology and telecom knowledge will be an advantage
• Experience in Photonics and Optical Network and Transport layer
• Experience in optical measurements like OSNR, Rx Sensitivity, Dispersion Penalty required
• Test Automation experience: Require Tcl/Tk or Python, experience in both strongly preferred, LabWindows experience required, LabView experience strongly preferred, C/C++ is a must
• Experience in driving Instruments Interfaces i.e. GPIB, RS-232, Parallel, USB is a must

Client-specific customization or scripting experience preferred.
