A Singaporean headquartered company is looking for a qualified Intellectual Property Manager. This position oversees and manages the Company’s Intellectual Property docket, files, databases, reports, and maintenance fee payment systems. They are responsible for liaising with our external patent attorneys and arranging for the preparation, filing and prosecution of foreign and local patents, trademarks, copyrights and domain names. They also manage interaction with foreign associates regarding the company’s intellectual property.

Intellectual Property Manager

Responsibilities:

• Maintain international patent and trademark dockets, files, databases, reports, and maintenance fee payment systems.
• Assist Company’s external Patent Attorneys prepare documents for filing and prosecuting involving patents and trademarks.
• Coordinate international filings with foreign law offices and/or other foreign entities.
• Research and compile information pertaining to national and international intellectual property rights; procedural matters and case law.
• Prepare status summary reports for attorneys and clients.
• Assist in intellectual property-related litigation (e.g., for document discovery) and assisting with legal research.
• Assist in oppositions, interferences and cancellations of intellectual property rights.
• Perform on-line searches of Patent and Trademark records, industry databases and general legal research.
• Police client’s trademarks to guard against potential infringements.
• Process invoices related to the Company’s intellectual property.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with USPTO, PCT and other international rules and procedures, as well as local patent and trademark application process.
• Solid understanding of U.S. and international patent and trademark procedures and forms.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal, organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office, patent and trademark docketing system (i.e. PAIRS, AusPat, EPO RegisterPlus and espace).
• On-line legal research skills required
• Foreign language skills a plus, especially Mandarin, Japanese or other south-east Asian languages.

Education and/or Experience:

• 3+ years experience with intellectual property with significant responsibility managing a significant intellectual Property Docket and managing international patent and trademark prosecution.
• Degree (B.A., B.SC., Chemical Engineering or LLB) from a recognized university
• Experience in corporate matters a plus.
