Flight Focus Pte Ltd is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, results oriented and innovative person to fill the role of IT System Engineer in the company. The IT System team will provide 24×7 support to the operations and customers.

IT System Engineer

The incumbent will be responsible to ensure the smooth running of the computer systems including operational system and database server, at any time. He/she will be the first level of IT support to the Operations.

Being part of the IT Support team, the IT System Engineer will also support the Networking & Infrastructure Engineer in ensuring the computer system and network are in place and fully functional.

Principal Duties

• To monitor and ensure full functionality and running of the Operations Systems such as Application Client / Server and Database Server.
• To create application system monitoring tool.
• To monitor all application system server software.
• To monitor Database server.
• To ensure that backup system is ready at all time.
• To create and maintain database backup.
• To restore database backup as and when needed by head of department.
• Conduct server and client application deployment.
• To provide 1st level system debugging support arises through systems failure, operator error or user misunderstanding etc.
• To lead and organize a team of System Support Technician.
• To provide proper documentation in helpdesk environment and control the support provided.

Position Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology or similar discipline
• Minimum 3 years working experience in system support environment with a medium size enterprise.
• Minimum 5 years working experience with at least 1 year in people management role.
• Working knowledge of Python, Perl and Linux would be advantageous.
• Experience in networking, infrastructure, computer hardware and software environment would be a MUST.
• Experience working in help desk environment would be preferred.

The incumbent should have

• Ability to multi-task and to prioritize urgency situation.
• Ability to ensure completion of tasks or cases and being innovative in providing solutions.
• Ability to make analysis and work under stressful environment.
• Ability to work independently without supervisor and yet able to complete within giving time frame.
• Demonstrate skill and knowledge of computer hardware and software especially in area such as firewall, routers, VPN, wireless technology etc.
• Excellent interpersonal skill with people at all level
• Good oral and written communication.
