Laboratory Analyst

(Location: Jalan Buroh)

Perform quality control tests on blending components, blended lubricating oil, additives and fuel oil in accordance to approved testing methods. Carry out sample analysis on used oil or after-sales service samples or complaint samples upon request. Check test results for in-process and finished lubricating oil and additives against specifications and work out components to add to non-conformances and present the findings. Attend to base oil/additive tanker receiving and loading quality control as scheduled. Conduct quality audits and Loss Prevention observations. Participate in laboratory proficiency testing program. Assist in instrument maintenance and calibrations and perform minor troubleshooting on laboratory equipment. Perform other duties as and when assigned.

Requirements:

• Certificate or Diploma in a Science discipline, preferably in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• Familiar with products and plant processes
• Experience in quality control testing of petroleum products is advantageous
• Knowledge of quality assurance and Health, Environment and Safety principles, preferably with the ability to conduct internal audits
• Strong analytical, problem solving, planning and organizational skills
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work on rotating shifts and willing to work outside regular shift hours when required
