Senior/Hardware Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for complex PCB boards and FPGAs development. The candidate should be able to design digital circuit for multi-gigabit serial communication protocols, create system specifications, schematics and BOMs, guide layout team, bring-up PCB and then create test procedure for manufacturing. He is likely to work on FPGA development including specification, design, coding, simulation, integration and de-bugging. He must interact closely with the software, mechanical and quality assurance team to deliver the product. The candidate has to be self-motivated, dedicated, focused, and be able to meet very tight schedules.

Requirements:

• BEng or MS in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with at least 5 years experience in digital circuit design and FPGA
• Strong FPGA design skill is desired. The candidate needs to have experience with Xilinx/Altera/Lattice devices and should be able to code using VHDL and/or Verilog
• Good experience in the design and debugging of systems containing high speed FPGAs, DDR and SRAM memory, SERDES, PCIe, and serial backplane technologies
• Experience working with one or more of the following technologies: Storage protocols (e.g. SAS, SATA), Computer interfaces (e.g. PCI Express, USB, DDR2, DDR3), High speed SERDES (e.g. Xilinx MGT)
• Must be able to perform digital circuit design using schematic capture and have knowledge of high-speed logic standards, ability to analyze signal integrity issues, and experience working with PCB layout personnel to ensure design constraints are met
• Possess working knowledge of digital circuit testing equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes with ability to debug FPGA and PCBA issues
• Good communication skills, team member and attention to detail
